Art is not the creation of the eyes, the hands, or the brain, it is the creation of the heart with which we pull our most inner feelings and put it on canvas.
My name is Valentina (Tina) Yannotti and I hope you enjoy viewing these paintings that I created. The quote above is the only way I can explain why I create and because my birthday is on Valentine’s day I have had a special connection to hearts. Yes, I paint because I am inspired by nature, people, shapes and colors but it is the feeling I get from it that I want to create.
Putting my heart into all of my paintings is literal too. When I complete a painting and feel content that it was done with my heart, I hide a heart somewhere in the painting.
They say home is where the heart is and that is why so many of my paintings are landscapes of the Finger Lakes area. I feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful area and enjoy Plein Air painting here (Plein Air is French term for “in the open air)
